This is a picture of the Headstone of Perry Lee Compton Jr. He was grandson of Perry F. Compton, and great-grandson of Felix and Eloise Compton.
He was born on June 26, 1936 to Perry Lee and Flossie Compton.
In 1949, his father found himself facing indictments after stealing various items, including a cow and chickens, over a 9 month period. In one case, Perry Lee Compton Sr. raided a chicken house, and a gun fight ensued. He was given 8 years for stealing the chickens, and 11 months for wounding the owner of the chicken house. In addition, he received two more years for contributing to the delinquency of a minor, as he brought two of his underage sons along.
Perry Lee Compton Jr. died October 12, 1991. He is the most recent burial in the Compton Family Cemetery.
