As prominent merchant, banker, lawyer, politician and real estate tycoon, R.M. Scott was among the most accomplished men of the 19th century. Scott served as Fairfax Counties delegate to the General Assembly in 1812, and was the President of the Farmers bank of Alexandria. Known as a man of great mental power and energy Scott was the financial provider of the entire Scott family. He died August 31st, 1833 at the age of 63.
