Surrounding Environment of the Cemetery

Here are some pictures showing the surrounding environment of the Thompson Family Cemetery. From these images, we can see that the Cemetery was on the edge of a big shopping center with a Starbucks, a Safeway supermarket, and a gas station across the street. I wonder how did the descendants of the Thompson react to the construction of this shopping center, and I found this newspaper article made in 2011.

It turns out that the cemetery used to be much larger than it is today. Members of the Thompson family had been selling the land bit by bit to developers. In 1973, the Pan Am shopping center begins to build up, and the developers wished to totally transport the remainder of the cemetery out of the way. The Thompsons had fought back, and they have won their battle.
