Headstones

The Chapman Family Cemetery contains eight headstones. These headstones tell the story of the merging of the Williams, Swann, and Champman families over the course of the 19th century. They also provide evidence of the fragile nature of human life, especially the lives of children. Several of the headstones in this cemetery record the brief lives of Swann family children, some of whom did not live past the age of two.
