Sgt Bartlett Yancey Malone's diary on life in the prison camp

Sgt Bartlett Yancey Malone was a soldier in Co.H, 6th N.C Infantry C.S.A. He was captured in 1864 and imprisoned in Point Lookout till 1865. Armistead was also in the camp during this period. Unfortunately, I cannot find out anything written by him regarding his personal experiences in the Prison Camp. However, reading the diary written by his comrades should help us understand what could possibly happen to Armistead.

According to Malone, Nov.18th 1864 was a cold rainy day, Armistead was diagnosed with Typhoid fever on the 19th. The weather, combined with poor hygiene and lack of blankets and shoes could be the cause for his sickness.
