Description

Described in the Lee Highway Association's book concerning Lee Highway in 1926, the Zero Milestone is a monument on the south lawn of the White House in Washington, DC, the landmark from which all highways radiating from the city are measured. This includes Lee Highway, for which the milestone was built; in the long run, the Zero Milestone's legacy would literally crush the Hicks Family Cemetery, dislocating at least five other monuments in Arlington, Virginia.
