Description

This is the headstone in memory of Dr. William B. Day, born February 6th, 1817, in Calvert County, MD. Dr. William B. Day was married to Emily P. Day. They lived at together at their house in Drainesville until he died of liver disease August 29th, 1886. The inscription on his headstone is from Thessalonians 4:13 and it reads "But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even us others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him." The footstone is engraved with his initials, WBD.
