Irene Flatford was born Irene Tyers on July 20th, 1895 in Lee, Fairfax, Virginia.  Shown in the 1920 census, she was the daughter of the head of house, at age 23, and was able to read and write.  SHe was married to David Lawrence Flatford sometime between 1920 and 1930.  The Social Security Death Index shows that her last residence was 24445 Hot Springs, Bath, Virginia, USA.  Her social security number was issued in Virginia in 1955.  She possibly had two children, Marion and Elaine, with husband David.  Irene died on June 10th, 1973.

David Lawrence Flatford was born on October 30th, 1888 in Garrisonville, Virginia.  He registered for the draft in World War I and World War II.  Both draft cards give detail to his life during the time during the registrations.  In 1900 and 1920 he was living in Aquia, Stafford, Virginia with his family.  In 1920 he moved back home with his family, widowed with his young child, Marion.  His World War I draft registration card shows that his present occupation at the time was a trunk maker.  He worked for Jopham's Trunk Factory in D.C.  At the time he had a wife and child that were dependent on him.  He was of medium height, and slender in weight, he had brown eyes and light brown hair.  It also shows he lived in Precinct 9; the date of the registration was on June 5th, 1917.  In the 1930 Census he was living in Lee, Fairfax, Virginia with his wife Irene Flatford and his two children, Marion and Elaine.  Marion was from his previous marriage, and Elaine was from his marriage with Irene.  The World War II draft registration card shows that he was 53 years old living in Lorton, Virginia and his telephone number was 62F3 Lorton.  He worked at the D.C. Workhouse in Lorton, Fairfax, Virginia.  He was employed by D.E.P.I (D.E.D.L?), also in Lorton, Virginia.  The person listed as always knowing his address was wife Irene Flatford.  The serial number for his draft card was 1679.  David died on March 23rd, 1958.
